Exciting Announcement: New Heroes of Might & Magic title officially in development!

Exciting news for Might & Magic fans: Development on a new title for the Heroes of Might and Magic series has officially been announced!

Developer Unfrozen Studio announced at Gamescom 2024 that they are officially in development with current Might & Magic franchise owners Ubisoft for new PC game called Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era.

According to the official announcement from Ubisoft: “Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era brings the turn-based strategy franchise back just in time for its 30th anniversary. Releasing on PC in Steam Early Access in the first half of 2025, Olden Era is set before the events of the first game, and will take players back to the world of Enroth and the continent of Jadame. Featuring new factions, biomes, and creatures, Jadame has been referenced but never explored in the main Heroes of Might and Magic series.”

The words “Enroth” and “Jadame” will be enough to pique the interest of any serious Might and Magic fanatic, while the phrase “new Heroes of Might & Magic” should be more than enough to rouse the enthusiasm of even the most casual fans. And while this title technically is not slated to be a free roam blobber style game, it does make us hopeful that Ubisoft wants to revive the franchise with more to come in the future…

It is also of interesting note that Unfrozen Studio appears to be a newer upstart in the game development sector, but one with significant potential. Their debut title Iratus: Lord of the Dead has been very positively received on Steam and is extremely polished.

With their impressive portfolio and a development team stacked to the brim with talent, we are chomping at the bit to experience their entry into the Heroes of Might & Magic series, with Olden Era set to release for early access in 2025! (More information is available here.)
