Monsters of Mican is one of the more recent Free Roam Blobber titles that we have been tracking throughout its development over the past year – and is finally available now via Steam!
The game officially released on March 25th, 2025 and as of the writing of this article is showing “User Reviews: Positive” status which does not surprise us here at FreeRoamBlobber.com, considering the developers’ hard work and dedication to improve the game with top down view, more dungeons, and additional monsters over the past several years.
With the game now available to the general public, the developer has announced the games’ final update, to be implemented in June 2025.
FreeRoamBlobber.com was able to chat with the developer to get some additional details to share with our readers.

Final Update- Crystal Edition:
The Mineral Realm
The new bonus dungeon which opens after completing the game, featuring the Mineral Realm, buried deep under Spiny Island near the core of Mican. This expands on the story of Mutonium and Director Ronsen of the Spiny Island research facility who triggered the Amalgam Anomaly. This dungeon spans 4 maps, and leads to a thrilling final battle that may decide the fate of all life in the universe!
Fishing
Grab a fishing rod and fish in any body of water, sewage or even lava! A new NPC who lives on the beach of Spiny Island will trade you goods for fish, or you can try eating the fish for various temporary buffs. Some special fish are only found in special fishing spots, which those with a keen awareness skill may be able to locate!
Hot Dog Races
A new door has been found in the Unearthed Halls Level 2, leading to Frankfurter the Fast, the world renowned skateboarding hot dog! Race against Frank in one of three difficulty modes, a victory in each one will unlock the next and grant excellent (and unique!) rewards!
Boss Intros
To add a bit more personality to the (talkative) bosses in the game, I’ve added a new brief boss dialogue screen.
The Warren
A new hidden dungeon, home to the Thieves Guild of Spiny Island. Brave the traps and illusions in the Warren to impress the Chief Thief, Don Warren, and gain membership into the guild itself!
