Legend of the Stones is an upcoming free roam blobber PC game developed by a single developer under the name of Magic Pig Games.
The developer has only released a few details as of yet, but the previews available of the game so far are incredibly promising. Magic Pig Games has also uploaded 3 devlogs to YouTube and you can check those out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSlyGaEEFKw.
Magic Pig Games is also fundraising for the project through assets they sell under http://www.InfinityPBR.com.
We have an exclusive interview with the developer below!

Q: General overview of your game?
Legend of the Stones is a first person, party based fantasy RPG filled with quests, dungeons and other places to explore, epic environments, magical creatures, monsters, and other enemies, plus puzzles and a broad story that requires multiple playthroughs to fully experience it all.
Q: Any big inspirations for the game?
Might & Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven – and then of course M&M 7 and 8 as well, though, mostly 6. The Might & Magic series was the first RPG that I fell in love with, around the same time that I first played Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy (1…both of them!)
I remember waiting eagerly for each release to come out for the Mac, and when VI was only released for PC, I built my first PC just to play that game. Literally I only played that and the other two games on this PC!
Q: Type of combat? turn based, realtime, strategy?
Like Might & Magic VI, the game is mostly realtime, with a turn based option. Toggle that on and enemies and the players will take turns performing actions, which allow the player to take more time to plan out attacks, cast spells, and use items. Actions can also be assigned to specific keys for real time action and battles.
As a party based game, the view is first person, with the player party visible via portraits.
Q: Any other mechanics you are excited about / unique in your game?
There will be a main story and quests required to complete the game. There will also be many many more side quests. Some will be available during all playthroughs. Others will only be available based on player actions previously. Some are based on the character classes the player has selected, and others are based on the outcome of previous encounters.
Some quests will also provide the player with a choice – sometimes an overt choice, sometimes not. And depending on how the player acts, different outcomes will occur.
I really want the game to be replayable, so some puzzles will be seed based, so that each time you play, the secrets may not be exactly the same as the last time – for example, if you learn through hints you find in the game that typing “NILBOG” into a keyboard like mechanism does something special, the next time you play, it may not be the same string, so you can’t just run to the mechanism and type in what you already know to be the magic phrase. Of course, you can set the seed as well, so that it is the same each time, if that’s what you prefer.
In the end, I don’t really care if players speed through without figuring it out each time! As long as they’re having fun.
Q: How big is your development team? Any details or shout outs you would like to give?
Just me! But I would give shout outs to all the YouTubers and friends and colleagues who have helped along the way, and who continue to help, along with all the Asset Store publishers who create great content that I use.
Q: Any ETA on next big release / demo?
This one is hard. Technically the game has been in development for 7 years – I started right before getting a full time job. As I’ve improved my own skills, I’ve gone back to start over. I’ve also, from time to time, gotten busy with life, and then totally forgot where I was. Often at that point, I also realize I should do things differently.
So…I don’t actually know. My next goal is to get a playable first environment, with some basic interactions with enemies, NPCs, and a character creation scene. Most likely this would be a proof-of-concept, a vertical slice, rather than the actual first part of the game.
I’d like to release this so folks can play it and if they like the experience, get involved in the Discord, on the (not yet created) Steam page, and all that.
