What is a Free Roam Blobber?

This is a very niche genre of games. The name we picked tried to incorporate the main aspects of the genre. The games we based this genre off of are Might and Magic 6 – 8 and Wizardry 8.

Free Roam / Free Movement

Free roam or free movement means the player is not restricted to a grid. This also includes exploring an open or semi-open world.

Blobber

A blobber is a game where the party moves around as a blob or a single unit of multiple characters in the first person view. Can also be referred to as first person party based RPG. The term blobber is an older term and you can read even more about it here.

Combat

Combat in this genre is usually turn based or realtime and some games even allow you to switch between the two. There is also tactical combat that is on a grid or hex and usually shows the characters overhead.
